President and CEO Crane Group

Tanny Crane is president and CEO of Crane Group, a privately-held family business in Columbus, Ohio. A diversified portfolio company with a total asset base of about $370 million, Crane Group comprises 10 manufacturing businesses primarily serving the home building and commercial markets, real estate investments, and equities. Crane joined Crane Plastics Company (manufacturing business) in 1987 as director of human resources. She became vice president of sales and marketing in 1993 and president in 1996. In 2003 she succeeded Jameson Crane to her current position. Prior to joining Crane Plastics, she was product manager for Quaker Oats Company and national account manager at AT&T. Crane serves on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, is a Director of Wendy’s International, Inc., a member of the Columbus Partnership, and a trustee of the Columbus Foundation. She is immediate past board chair of United Way of Central Ohio and continues on the executive committee and board. She served as 1999 United Way campaign chair. She is past president of the board of Action for Children and is a member of the Project Grad Board and Columbus School for Girls board of trustees. She is an advisory board member of The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business and on the board of the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce. Crane received her MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, and her BS in Administrative Science, with a major in Marketing, from The Ohio State University.
