2014 Fisher Invitational Case Competition

Introduction

As the Columbus Blue Jackets enter the playoffs for the second time in franchise history, another contest is going on off the ice. The National Center for the Middle Market, a collaboration between GE Capital and The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, kicked off the 22nd Annual Fisher Invitational Case Competition. Formerly called the Big Ten+, teams of first-year MBA students from the nation's top business schools gathered at the Fisher campus to take on a business case for the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets.

As the 2014 Fisher Invitational Case, the Columbus Blue Jackets hosted the student teams for a private kick-off dinner at Nationwide Arena during which they provided a tour of the arena and locker rooms. The Blue Jackets also sent senior management to participate as judges in each round of the competition as well as a one-on-one Q&A session with each individual team of MBA students participating in the event.

 

Each individual on the winning team received a $250 Amazon gift card and all participants received a blue jackets hat, replica hockey puck, and replica hockey stick courtesy of CBJ. A special thank you from the National Center for the Middle Market and the Fisher College of Business for their collaboration on this event. We wish them the best of luck in the playoffs!!
