Chief Commercial Officer, GE Capital

Michael Pilot is the Chief Commercial Officer of GE Capital, the financial services unit of the General Electric Company. GE Capital provides financial products and services to businesses and consumers globally.

As chief commercial officer, a role assumed in January 2011, Pilot is working to reposition the GE Capital brand, expand GE Capital’s global sales force coverage and accelerate growth.

Prior to this role, Pilot was president of NBC Universal’s ad sales with overall executive responsibility for all areas of the company’s television and digital networks advertising sales efforts.

Pilot began his career in sales at GE Capital in 1984 and has held a variety of sales management and senior leadership positions at GE. These include president and CEO of GE Commercial Finance’s Equipment Finance Group; president of GE Capital Small Business Finance Corporation; vice president of global sales for GE Information Services and vice president of sales for GE Industrial Systems.

He was appointed a GE officer in 2002 and was the 2004, 2009 and 2011 recipient of the Chairman’s Award for Growth, an honor bestowed annually on the company’s most outstanding growth leader. Pilot is a 1984 graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a degree in business administration and management.
